Presidents Report – Roger
Jacobs.
· Conduct
at meetings - After some discussion, the BOD agreed that Roger would remind
weekly meeting attendees to be courteous to guest speakers by silencing cell
phones, avoiding side discussions, raising hands for questions and showing up
on time. On a separate note, the BOD also suggested waiting till meeting
adjournment before serving ice cream at the monthly business meeting.
· The
BOD approved a $300 one-time contribution to the Lion’s Club Mayor’s Breakfast as
it is celebrating 50 years at this year’s Citizen of the Year event to be held
at First Presbyterian Church on Saturday March 19 at 9.00 am.
· Roger
represented the 65 Club at the most recent Mayor’s Community Collaborative
meeting. He reported that the town will stop the use of plastic bags on May 4,
2022. The Partnership for Haddonfield will be distributing cloth bags at the Farmers
Market on 4/22/22. In addition, the Fall Festival is back on for 10/1/22. Roger
also supplied a summary of the 65 Club’s activities to the Newcomers Club for
its informational packet and to the upcoming Borough’s New Resident and new
Business packets.
Vice-Presidents Reports –
Dave Tarditi and Joe Galliera.
·
Dave submitted a picture of the officers
to The Retrospect along with a summary of the Club’s history and activities.
Some edits were suggested to the narrative. Roger, Dave and Joe are following
up.
·
Dave will send out info on the Legions Last
Man Standing event in April.
·
Dave reported no change in speakers from
the last list communicated in the monthly newsletter. He received a few suggestions
from board members for new speakers
·
Joe reached out to the town churches to
advertise the club and put something in
“Coffee News” as well.
·
Bernie Schaming will follow-up on the
possibility of getting cloth bags with the 65 Club logo as suggested by Rich
Carney.
·
Rich Carney will follow up on the Master Gardener
speaker and potential trip.
Treasurers Report- Hank
Zaleski.
· February
was a quiet month with only 2 expenses. The club received about $300 more than
it spent. Hank closed the books earlier than normal as he was in Florida and
New Orleans last week for Mardi Gras. Unlike Walter, he did not use club funds
to buy beads!!!
· There
are 6 members who have still not paid 2022 dues. Multiple emails and messages
have been left for these individuals. Bernie Schaming said the Secretary
historically sends a letter to these individuals notifying them of their dues
obligation before dropping them from the club roles. Hank will contact Fred Willis
so that these letters go out before March 15.
Old Business
Al Schmidt is trying out
a new camera and is following up on amplifiers.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:25 am.
The Secretary thanks Hank Zaleski for taking the minutes in the Secretary’s absence.
Respectfully submitted,
Fred Willis, Secretary
