February, 2015

The board of directors meeting of the Haddonfield 65 Club was held on Thursday February 5, 2015. President Kille called the meeting to order at 10 AM. Roll was called and 10 members were present.
Prior to the regular meeting Rob Wilby, a member of the Y’s Men club briefed the board on their organization and its activities. The intent was to exchange information about our organizations in hopes of attracting new members for either club.
The secretary read the board meeting minutes from January 8, 2015. The minutes were approved as read.
Walt Baker gave the treasurers report and it was approved for audit. Walt reported that there are still 50 members who have not paid their dues. Walt raised a question regarding memorial contributions when a member passes away. What do we do when the obituary makes no mention of where to send memorials.
After discussion, a motion was made “To send memorial donations to the Haddonfield Foundation when no other option is mentioned in an obituary”. The motion passed.
Walt also reported that no activity has taken place yet on the audit.

Old Business

New Business

· President Kille reported that David Hunter requested a meeting with the board to solicit our participation in Haddonfield Soup. After a brief discussion, the board agreed that we should table this for the time being. It was generally felt that the potential benefit did not justify the cost.
· Dennis also brought up the opportunity to have the AAA hold a driving class at our facility. We would need to have approximately 30 people to justify having an on-site course. The course results in an auto insurance discount of 3-5%. The board agreed that we should proceed to find out if we can get sufficient people.
· Dennis initiated a discussion on the spring luncheon. Bill Brown reported that Mayor Kasko will have a proclamation honoring the club’s 60 year anniversary. He also suggested having Bob Parsons put together a video history of the club and perhaps have people discuss what the process is to win the various trophies. In addition he reported that we have an offer to also have the young violinist.
· Bill Brown reported that the Feed My Starving Children event is coming up. After discussion it was agreed that the club would again participate. Bernie Schaming agreed to access the web site and sign up the club. We will begin to solicit volunteers from the membership. A motion was made “To make the same donation to this event as we have in the past”. The motion passed. Past donations have been $200.
The meeting adjourned at 11:15am.
Respectfully submitted,

Bernie Schaming, Secretary
