Haddonfield 65 Club
Board of Directors Meeting
December 7, 2023
The Board of Directors meeting of the Haddonfield 65 Club was held on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at the Club House.
President David Tarditi called the meeting to order at 10:00 AM. He then led the Board of Directors in the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer requesting concern and support to those members and their families facing health issues and unfortunate events.
The Assistant Secretary made a board member roll call, and all board members were present.
The October Board meeting minutes, which had been distributed and posted before the meeting, were approved by the Directors.
President’s Report
Request for suggestions for a new Second Vice President and for Directors to identify candidates and approach them for the position. Discussion ensued regarding optional approaches. Suggestions were made and agreed upon that board members who had served in VP roles discuss candidate qualities and develop an agreed-upon selection of candidates.
President Tarditi requested that a selection be made before year-end.
A related discussion ensued regarding the Club’s past membership qualification requirement of Haddonfield residents, led by Bernie Shaming. Bernie reviewed his discussions with Haddonfield Commissioners while he was Secretary of 65 Club and their willingness to accept a limit of 15% of the membership not being Haddonfield residents.
He then suggested that the Club be more judicious in deciding how to move people to more active membership—also suggested that the Board consider making 11 activities for special members. Recognition that recruiting in Haddonfield is difficult.

David Tarditi suggested that the nominating committee make a recommendation.
Bernie Shaming proposed that the Nominating Committee approach 11 members to see who the potential candidates for the VP position are.
Al Schmidt advocated flexibility in this effort and verbally agreed upon it.
A final suggestion, which was also supported, is that the Committee select from the Most Active members rather than the length of membership.

Discussion on our organization and planning is needed. It has been financially successful for the Club, but a large portion of our “items” were not appealing to the younger patrons of the event. We will change our approach for 2024 and present at the February 2024 Board Meeting for review.

Membership Annual Dues
Bernie Shaming recommends that the Board raise annual dues from $20 to $30. He noted that the Club has had the same membership fee for over 18 years, and inflation has substantially increased the Club's expenses.

It was unanimously approved.
President Tarditi asked for a motion to end the meeting. 11:40 AM A motion was made and seconded. Unanimous approval.
