Haddonfield 65 Club
September, 2015
The board of directors meeting of the Haddonfield 65 Club
was held on Thursday September 3, 2015. President Kille called the meeting to
order at 10 AM. Roll was called and 12 members were present.
The secretary read the board meeting minutes from August 6,
2015. The minutes were approved as read.
Walt Baker gave the treasurers report and it was approved
for audit.
Trips
· Bill Brown reported that the Lancaster
trip on September 29 has 26 people signed up at the time of the meeting. A discussion ensued as to whether to cancel
the trip or go forward. After discussion a motion was made “to move forward
with the trip even if we don’t have sufficient participants to break even”. The
motion passed. In the meantime Bill will continue to seek additional
participants. He has recently contacted many local clubs and groups to
advertise the trip. In addition Bill
will advertise the Christmas trip to the American Music Theatre after the Amish
farm trip. He already has 32 participants signed up for that trip.
Membership
· President Kille reported
presented two new candidate applications for membership in the club. Joseph
Haro and Alan Bigelow were accepted as new members.
Clubhouse Cleanup
· The original date for the
cleanup conflicts with the fall luncheon. It was decided that we would have the
cleanup on a date in October for which we have no speaker; otherwise it would
be after the business meeting in November.
Flea Market
· The notice has appeared
in the local paper and so far we have had two calls. Bill Brown has a key to
the American Legion to obtain the tables for the event. Multiple people have
agreed to help with the event.
Barbeque
· Henry Leimkuhler reported
that they will obtain platters from Wegmans for the luncheon set for September
10th. Soda will be available as well.
Christmas Party
· Bill Brown reported that
Tom Mervine indicated that arrangements have been set for Dec 10th
with the Methodist Church and that he has secured a speaker. Food for the party
still needs to be worked out.
Fall Stag Luncheon
· Bob Parsons reported that
the luncheon is set. The cost will be $30 and the menu choices will be chicken,
tilapia and penne pasta
Wine and Cheese party
· Bill Brown reported that
the Markeim Center has raised prices to the point of being out of the question.
He is still checking other venue possibilities.
Old Business
· None
New Business
· None
The meeting adjourned at 10:50AM.
Respectfully submitted,
Bernie Schaming, Secretary
