June, 2023

 The Board of Directors meeting of the Haddonfield 65 Club was held on Thursday June 1, 2023. The meeting was held in the 65 Club clubhouse.

President David Tarditi called the meeting to order at 10:00 AM. Dave Tarditi led the directors in the Pledge of Allegiance and provided a prayer. Hank Zaleski took the minutes for Fred Willis who was tramping around New Mexico.

Roll was called and fourteen (14) board members were present.  

Minutes –Fred Willis

  • The May minutes, which had been distributed and posted earlier, were approved by the Directors.

President’s Report – David Tarditi

  • Spring Luncheon
    • Dave said he was pleased with the Luncheon.
    • Dave thought Dickie Noles did a great job…all agreed
  • Urban Promise

o   Six members went to Urban Promise on May 16th to discuss career possibilities. It went well and Dave expects the club to have a continuing relationship with Urban Promise

 

Treasurers Report – Hank Zaleski

  • Hank informed the Directors that the major item for May was the Spring Luncheon. The club paid about $250 more than it received. $200 had been budgeted from Operations. The balance (about $50) was charged to the Luncheon Fund
  • The rest of the expenses and receipts for May were normal.

 

Speakers – Joe Galliera

  • Joe has speakers scheduled out through mid-August

 

Membership – Chuck Kanupke

  • The following four new members were approved:
    • Brian Smith
    • Bill Bittle
    • Barry Bannett
    • Bob Nichols
  • The club has signed up about 2 dozen new members so far this year. The recruitment activities are paying off.
  • Chuck reported that he is planning to use the Flea Market as a recruiting event and plans to hold another Meet & Greet in the fall

 

Old Business

  • Indian King Skirmish – June 3
    • Volunteers are still needed for the event this weekend
  • 4th of July Parade
    • Frank Lodge reviewed his plans for the parade. The biggest issue appears to be getting enough dogs for the parade. A plan was developed to accomplish this. Chuck Kanupke volunteered to be the “dog catcher/wrangler”
    • Tyrone, our service dog/mascot will lead the 65 Club contingent in the July 4th parade.
  • Club Annual Directory
    • Bernie informed the directors the mailing of the directory cost $143.
  • Trips
    • The Phillies stadium tour trip is scheduled for August. Details were sent out to the club members
    • A similar trip to the Eagles stadium is being pursued.
  • Open house/coffee gathering
    • Jay Cokos reported that the first gathering is scheduled for Friday, June 9th. There is going to be a discussion about moving this to Tuesdays assuming the gathering has some interest.

Bill Brown – follow-up

Bill continues to recover from his fall and is at Kessler Rehab

 

The meeting adjourned at 11:15 am.
