  • The funeral service for Dan Columbi was well attended by 65 Club members.
  • The Poppy Project display honoring the New Jersey military members who died in World War 1 was very well done. There was a good parade on Memorial Day and Joe Ade, a former marine and current 65 Club member, marched from Chestnut Street to the HMHS in honor of the fallen men and women.
  • June 4 is the Skirmish and about thirteen (13) 65 club members will participate in it as Constables.

Old Business

  • Carl’s Sunoco station will be 65 years old on June 9, the date of the 65-club business meeting. Carl’s is donating $0.65 per gallon, on June 9, to various Service Clubs in Haddonfield, of which the 65 Club is one. Doug Rauschenberg has researched the history of gas stations in Haddonfield.  Instead of the business meeting, Doug will present his research to the 65 Club and members will go to Carl’s afterwards for further possible events.
  • The club is still waiting to hear if the Lions club will have a Flea Market this year.
  • Fred Willis attempted to assemble the paper model that was to be used in the 4th of July parade. Fred discovered the assembly was more difficult than expected and when scaled up as required for the parade would require much more time than the club members could expend.  Frank concurred and the model idea was canceled.  Frank is now investigating topics that can be placed on posters.
  • The Mayor’s Wellness Conference is rescheduled from Saturday May 7 to Saturday October 1.
  • The Fall Festival will be moved to Saturday October 8 and is currently scheduled to be held in the parking lot behind Borough Hall.  The directors do not believe this is an adequate location and the club will not participate if this location remains.

New Business

The meeting adjourned at 11:10 AM.

Respectfully submitted,

Fred Willis, Secretary
