The Board of Directors meeting of the Haddonfield 65 Club was held
on Thursday May 7, 2020. The 65 Club clubhouse was closed due to the Corona virus
shutdown. The meeting was conducted remotely using the Zoom program and was set
up by Al Schmidt and Richard Bonnette. President Bill Brown had sign in
problems and First Vice President Frank Lodge called the meeting to order at 10:10
AM. Bill joined the meeting shortly after it was called to order. Roll was called and 12 members, including Bill,
were on the call.
Fred Willis gave a synopsis of the Board meeting minutes from April
2, 2020. This was done because of the time involved in reading the minutes and the
issues of hearing on Zoom.
President Bill Brown gave a short thank you to the directors who
have been instrumental in keeping the club functioning during this
shutdown. This included Richard Bonnette
for providing Zoom capability to the club and Phil Kinsey for his work on the club
newsletter and providing up to date information on numerous issues.
Bill has been instrumental in providing virtual tours and information
on various subjects. Bill has provided the club with a Barnes Museum virtual
tour and information on Kate Smith. He also thanked Al Schmidt for sending out information
on the Frick Museum. Bill also informed the directors that he had talked with
the magazine Haddonfield Living, who would publish an article on how the club
was using zoom to conduct its meetings.

- The Spring Luncheon has been cancelled. Tavistock Country Club will remain
closed until June based on the Governor’s latest order.
- 4th of July Parade
- The status is currently unknown because the
Borough has announced a postponement of 4th of July events.
- Tai Chi Class with Jack Poupard
- The class is popular with its attendees but the location has been
very difficult to establish with the virus. Suggestions have included using
the club’s back yard, going on YouTube and purchasing a DVD. So far none have been agreed upon with Jack. Further discussion is required.
New Business
·
Fall Stag Luncheon.
- The Fall Stag Luncheon will be held October 8 at Tavistock from
12-3;00 PM. There was discussion
to have the luncheon in the late afternoon but Tavistock was not available.
- The board approved inviting ladies to this luncheon to replace the
cancelled Spring luncheon,
- Frank Lodge will contact the Camden County Board
of Entertainment to obtain a band.
·
Directory
- There was considerable discussion whether a Club
Directory should be published this year due to the virus impact. Based
upon Bernie Schaming’s suggestion, the board voted to not print a directory
this year This was partially due to
the unavailability of the usual printer, who is currently not well.
- Instead, the list of new members and members who
passed away in the past year will be listed in the Club’s
Newsletter. Addresses will not be included
in the newsletter. Members who
have not paid dues this year will not be deleted from the directory, as
is usual.
- Zoom Cost
- The use of Zoom is free but there is a cost to
access the program. Rich Bonnette has
been paying this cost and the board approved the club reimburse him the
$15 a month fee.
- Zoom Future Use
- Zoom use has become popular with members,
particularly for members who are unable to attend meetings. The board approved
the use of Zoom in the clubhouse when meetings are again held there. Al Schmidt will investigate whether
this is possible and the problems that may occur.

The meeting adjourned
at 11:10 AM.
Respectfully submitted,
Fred
