The board of directors meeting of the Haddonfield 65 Club
was held on Thursday March 2, 2017. President Henry Leimkuhler called the
meeting to order at 10 AM. Roll was called and 14 members were present.
The secretary read the board meeting minutes from February
2, 2017. The minutes were approved as read.
Walt Baker gave the treasurers report and it was approved
for audit. He reported that there are still
11 members who have not paid dues for 2017. Various board members volunteered
to call the people they know who have not paid their dues.
Membership
Three were no membership applications this month.
Trips
· Bill Brown reported that we made
a profit of ~$150 on the Masonic Temple trip.
He announced that the location for dinner after the trip to the Statue
of Liberty and Ellis Island has been changed to the Town and Country. There was
some discussion about changing the date for the 6-hr. fishing trip on June 6th
due to a conflict with the primary election. It was decided to keep the same
date since advertising has already gone out.
In addition Bud Pusatere has asked Bill to look into a Phillies game
trip this year. Preliminary investigation indicates a trip to the St. Louis
Cardinals game on Tuesday, June 20 is a good choice. The trip will include
Safety Bus transportation and game tickets for $45 to $50 which is about the
same as driving and parking costs.
Old Business
· Bill Brown requested that the
board make a decision on making one of our speakers an honorary member. After
reminding members of the By-Law position on honorary members, a motion was made
“To make Adam Puff an honorary member of the 65 Club with a designation of
Friend of the Club”. This designation will distinguish the category from
traditional honorary members as defined in the By-Laws.
· Ron Howley asked if Neal Tully
had agreed to honcho the spring cleanup intended for April 13th.
Bernie will talk to Neal to make sure that the material needed for the cleanup
will be available on that day. Members who can help will be asked to bring
rakes, clippers, etc that might be needed for a normal spring cleanup.
· Bill Brown reported that the
most recent movie night had only 5 people. He also reported that he was going
to askTom Mervine to fill in for him while on vacation.
New Business
· Henry announced that he will be
away the last 3 weeks in April.
· John Cokos reported that he is
working hard on new members.
· Mike Underwood reminded members
that the 4th of July parade will be coming up soon. He suggested
that we purchase new hats since the skimmers are getting pretty ratty. His
suggestion was a baseball hat with our logo that would go with the aprons that
we purchased two years ago.
The meeting adjourned at 10:45AM.
Respectfully submitted,
Bernie Schaming, Secretary
