July, 2016

The board of directors meeting of the Haddonfield 65 Club was held on Thursday July 7, 2016. President Wise called the meeting to order at 10 AM. Roll was called and 10 members were present.
The secretary read the board meeting minutes from June 2, 2016. The minutes were approved as read.
Walt Baker gave the treasurers report and it was approved for audit. Walt reported that he renewed the Republic Bank CDs. Two CDs were purchased, one for 1 year and one for 18 months.

New Members

· Thomas Diemer was approved for guest membership in the club.

Trips

· Bill Brown reported that the trip to the Linc, and car museum trip on June 28th was very good and a good time was had by all. Due to some cancellations, we lost $61 on the trip.  He also announced that he has tentatively booked a tip to Doolans in Spring Lake for December 6th. The trip includes a 1-hour open bar, wine with lunch and the show.
· After discussion Walt Baker made a motion “that subsequent trips will require either payment in full or a non-refundable $10 deposit at the time of sign-up”. The intent is to discourage members from signing up and later cancelling which makes trip planning difficult. The motion was passed.
· Bud Pusatere has picked September 5 for the Phillies game trip. Final costs have not been established yet but the intent is to purchase $40 tickets to stay out of the sun as much as possible.

Old Business

· Neil reported that Roger Clark is out of the country for a couple weeks and therefore a date for his talk has not been set, In the meantime, he will remain on our Thursday schedule for August 18th. As soon as Neil gets some dates for an evening presentation from Roger, he will check on the availability of obtaining Borough Hall for the event.
· Mike Underwood reported that the 4th of July parade was a success and thanked everyone for their help and participation.

New Business

· Bill Brown reported that he was thinking of ways to increase resident membership. He obtained some information from a marketing company regarding men in Haddonfield age 65 and over. There are 1464 males over 65 in town. We can obtain the names and addresses for $0.17 each. We could then contact men on the list via mail or telephone to inform them about the club and invite them to join. He will get additional information, particularly the availability of phone numbers for further discussion.
· Bill also raised the issue of our becoming a tax-exempt organization. There was some discussion but no decision was made

The meeting adjourned at 10:55AM.
Respectfully submitted,

Bernie Schaming, Secretary
