The board of directors meeting of the Haddonfield 65 Club
was held on Thursday June 4, 2015. President Kille called the meeting to order
at 10 AM. Roll was called and 10 members were present.
The secretary read the board meeting minutes from May 7,
2015. The minutes were approved as read.
Walt Baker gave the treasurers report and it was approved
for audit.
Presidents Items
· President Kille reported that he
had made the presentation of the 65 Club Perseverance Award to Charles Clarke
at the HMHS awards ceremony.
Trips
· Bill Brown reported that he had
20 people signed up so far for the trip to the Air Mobility Museum in Dover
Delaware. Bill also reported that he is
investigating a trip to Lancaster area. One such trip didn’t appear appropriate
for the club but he is investigating a trip to the American Music Theatre for
the Christmas show along with lunch at Shady Maple.
· Neil Wise suggested looking into
a trip to the new liquor distillery that is now open in Camden.
Membership
· Henry Leimkuhler presented 4
applications for membership. Membership was approved for James (Buz) Murphy,
Champ Goldy, James Flanagan and Anthony Guerrieri.
· After discussion Bernie Schaming
made a motion “To incorporate a guest membership category into the club
database for non-residents who are interested in becoming members. This will
provide a way to keep these applicants informed on club activities, give them
access to newsletters, trip information etc. In addition it will provide a
chronological list of non-resident applications so that when openings occur
they can be accepted into full membership.” The motion passed.
4th of July Parade
Bernie Schaming reported that arrangements for the parade
are pretty well finalized. The signs are made, Jack Tarditi will provide a convertible to carry Champ
Goldy and three committee members are making phone calls to solicit walkers.
Spring Luncheon
· Bob Parsons reported that
we made $14.60 on the spring luncheon. He has reserved Tavistock for next
year’s luncheon.
Old Business
· Bill Brown noted the mention in
the minutes of having a summer cookout after a business meeting. Nothing has
been done yet, but he suggested we keep this on the front burner.
New Business
· Bill Brown noted that the
handicap parking sign has been installed in front of the club.
· Bernie Schaming asked
about sending out the directory immediately after the spring luncheon rather
than waiting until the July directory is mailed. The board felt this was a good
idea for the future. Henry Leimkuhler suggested sending the directory via
e-mail. The board felt this was also a
good ideal and would reduce mailing costs. This will be incorporated next year
with notices going out in the newsletter in April & May 2016.
The meeting adjourned at 10:50AM.
Respectfully submitted,
Bernie Schaming, Secretary
